Over time, every piece of jewelry leaves its own unique story in the form of delicate traces. These subtle nuances tell of the love and joy with which the jewelry has been worn. Nevertheless, your jewelry deserves proper care, because with appropriate maintenance, you can ensure that your precious pieces always shine in their most beautiful form.
PRODUCT CARE & CLEANING
SILVER JEWELRY
Silver is particularly prone to discoloration. You can make tarnished silver shine again either with a silver polishing cloth or a bath of lukewarm water, salt, and a strip of aluminum foil. For particularly heavy oxidation, you can clean it with a silver dip from a drugstore or jeweler.
GOLD PLATING
For gold-plated yellow or rose gold jewelry, the cleaning must not be too aggressive, as the gold plating can peel off the sterling silver over time. Lukewarm water, a mild soap, and a soft cloth are usually sufficient for care. Above all, make sure to dry your jewelry pieces carefully and gently.
GENUINE GOLD JEWELRY
The higher the gold content, the longer and more intensely the piece of jewelry will shine. Nevertheless, streaks can become visible on gold jewelry after a certain amount of time and wear. Since gold is quite uncomplicated to care for, it is often enough to occasionally polish the jewelry with a soft cloth. For heavy soiling, you can use lukewarm water with a little mild soap. Just be careful not to be too aggressive and always dry your genuine gold jewelry well after cleaning.
PEARLS
The natural surface of pearls is very delicate and should therefore be cleaned with caution. It is best to simply use water and a soft microfiber cloth for drying. Only put on your pearl jewelry after applying makeup. Should any cosmetic residue occur, it can be removed with a slightly damp cloth. Also, do not wear them while doing housework, as moisture, heat, and chemical substances attack the surface and leave unsightly stains.
DIAMONDS AND GEMSTONES
Diamonds and most clear gemstones are quite uncomplicated to care for due to their hardness. Clean them with lukewarm water, a mild soap, and a very soft toothbrush. Afterward, rinse under running water and dry with a lint-free cloth. With a polishing cloth, the diamond will shine like new again.
STORAGE OF YOUR JEWELRY
It is best to store your jewelry in a jewelry box with as many compartments as possible and a soft lining to prevent scratching. We also recommend keeping your jewelry in a cool, dry place (the bathroom, for example, is not ideal!).
